Clear Clutter

One of the most important things to do to enhance the feng shui in your home to clear away anything that you do not love or don’t use. While this may feel time and energy consuming, you’ll clear up any unnecessary items in your home. Decluttering goes a long way to boost the energy in your living space.

Lighting and Air

To get the best Chi (good feng shui energy) possible in your custom home, your going to want to utilize natural light as much as possible, and also have the air pure. If you’re currently in the initial stages of choosing a design for your custom home, then make sure to talk to your builder about window positions and how you can get the most light. Also, keep the windows open as much as possible. To enhance the quality of air that you’re breathing, consider bringing in some air-purifying plants or invest in an air purifier.

The Trinity

There are three rooms in your home that require the most thought and the best feng shui. Also known as ‘the trinity’, these three rooms are the bedroom, the kitchen, and the bathroom. Obviously we spend a great deal of time in these areas, so you want to make sure that they’re comfortable. Spend some extra time in these rooms to ensure good chi.

Plants

Along with helping with the air-quality in your home, plants are a great way to boost the visual appeal of your interior. While it is up to you, the only recommendation we’d like to make is not to overdo it. When you make your house resemble a jungle, this is just adding clutter and hurting the energy.

Clear the Entryway

It is important to let the chi flow freely through your home. This is especially important in the entryway. You don’t want to walk into your home and immediately run into an obstacle. Have the entryway as open as possible.

Bed Position

For optimal feng shui in your bedroom, the position of your bed is important. You want to have it in the ‘commanding position’. This means the bed is in the farthest position from the door but also in a spot that you can still see the doorway.

We hope that these little bits of advice as it relates to the feng shui in your home help! If you would like to learn more about our home builders in Northern Colorado or are looking to get a custom home, then make sure to contact Classic Custom Builders today!
